Synapco - the story so far

Founded in 1981, Synapco began as a custom rubber manufacturer (compression and injection molding, with rubber mixing).

In 1985, an approach was made to mould DMC fuse carriages for electrical switchgear and this has remained a significant part of the operation.

Due to customer demand, thermoplastic injection moulding capability was added in 1986. The initial emphasis on TPR injection moulding has been expanded over the years to cover most engineering and commodity plastics.

1991 marked the first year of significant direct export to Australia with a substantial contract to supply plumbing seals, which we continue to manufacture for export to this day.

In 2006, we began exporting components for the Australian automotive industry; this has given us the opportunity to expand our management and processing systems to be compliant with ISO 9001:2008 standards.

2007 saw a new layout for the factory, with plastics and rubber being separated and relocated into adjoining buildings, this increased plant efficiency, safety, and product quality.

At the beginning of 2008, Synapco was accredited with ISO 9001:2008. Since then, we have continued to upgrade our moulding equipment to ensure we have the required technology and capacity to meet our customers’ changing needs.

During 2009-10, the company up-skilled the team with a lean manufacturing programme, giving us benefits in quality, efficiency and most importantly, safety.
